Is this for me?

If your body feels different lately, you are not imagining it.

Perimenopause can begin years before your last period, often in your 40s. Hormone levels rise and fall unpredictably, which is why symptoms can come and go and feel hard to pin down. At the same time, many women notice weight shifting to the middle and habits that used to work no longer working.

None of this is a personal failing. It is a real transition that deserves real attention.

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Hot flashes & night sweats
  • Mood changes or irritability
  • New anxiety
  • Brain fog
  • Irregular or heavier periods
  • Weight shifting to the middle
  • Low energy
  • Lower libido
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Joint aches
  • Feeling less like yourself

Many of these symptoms can also have other causes, such as thyroid changes or anemia. Part of your assessment is making sure we look at the whole picture.

What we treat by telehealth

Two kinds of care, one plan.

Menopause care

Perimenopause & menopause

  • Menopausal hormone therapy, when appropriate, chosen and monitored for you To confirm
  • Non-hormonal options for hot flashes, sleep, and mood
  • Vaginal and sexual health, discussed openly
  • Sleep, stress, and energy support

Hormone therapy can be an effective option for many women, and it isn’t right for everyone. Your history, including any history of certain cancers, blood clots, stroke, heart disease, or liver disease, shapes what is safe for you.

Weight & metabolism

Medical weight loss

  • GLP-1 therapy, such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, when medically appropriate To confirm
  • Nutrition guidance built around protein and fiber
  • Strength and movement habits that protect muscle
  • Regular follow-up to track progress and side effects

GLP-1 medications are not right for everyone. We screen for conditions that make them unsafe, such as a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, pregnancy, and certain pancreatic or gallbladder problems.

Can I start hormone therapy through telehealth?

Often, yes, when it is appropriate for you. Dr. Sylvie reviews your symptoms, personal and family history, and medications first, and explains the benefits and risks that apply to you.

Do I need lab work first?

Not always. Perimenopause is usually identified from your symptoms, age, and cycle changes. Labs are ordered when they add useful information, such as checking thyroid function or metabolic markers.

Can GLP-1 medication be prescribed by telehealth?

When it is medically appropriate and safe for you, yes. You will have regular follow-up to track progress and manage side effects.

Can I switch to in-person visits later?

Yes. Many patients mix telehealth and in-person visits at our Southlake practice.
